GIRL CRAZY – In Concert |

The Garden State Chorale Inc. presents its 76th annual production, Girl Crazy-In Concert. OK-the plot is hokey, but the music is great!
How about “Embraceable You”, “I Got Rhythm”, or “But Not for Me”. In this 1978 version of George and Ira Gershwin’s “Girl Crazy”, Kate (Jane Tonkin of Moorestown) is a barroom singer/floozy chasing after leading man and cowboy star Johnny Churchill (Jim Baker of Cherry Hill). But Molly Moorhead (Kathy Steinle of Cherry Hill) also has feelings for “Johnny” and won’t give him up easily. Molly helps Johnny fight the local evil crook gamblers of Custerville; Snake Eyes (John Mardirosian of Cherry Hill) and Doc (Michael Kane of Sicklerville). Sam Mason (Ramón Licairac of Moorestown) is a “do-‘em dirty” agent who wants Johnny back in Hollywood. He does his best to break things up between Molly and Johnny. You guessed it – in the end Johnny and Molly end up together, and Kate remarries her Hungarian piano player and ex-husband Zoli (Frank Kitchmire of Haddon Heights). The show will be performed on Friday, May 2, 2008 at 7:30 PM, and Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 2:00 PM and again at 7:30 PM at the Haddonfield Middle School, located on Chestnut Street and Lincoln Avenue, Haddonfield, NJ (one block from Kings Highway). The show is directed by Frank Cosky of Riverside, with musical direction by Robert Frederick of Lindenwold and Timothy Keleher of Haddon Heights. | The Garden State Chorale has begun rehearsals for it's 76th season. The Chorale is a non-profit Southern
New Jersey community group that has been performing Holiday concerts and Broadway musicals since 1932.
This year the Holiday Concert will be presented at the Haddonfield Middle School auditorium on
Friday November 30 (7:30 PM) and Saturday December 1 (2 PM). The auditorium is conveniently located
near the center of Haddonfield one block off Kings Highway at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Chestnut Street.
Tickets ($8 to$12) are available at the door or can be purchased in advance by calling 856-231-0781.

If you enjoy singing all types of popular music and can make rehearsals in Moorestown on Tuesday evenings at 7:30--call Jim Baker to set up an audition at 856-795-2296. Haddonfield Middle School.
